A primary objective of Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado is to pay tribute to all US military men and women who have contributed to the freedom we enjoy today. This is accomplished through the nomination of veterans by either family, friends, or self-nomination. Accepted nominations are then posted with a short description of their military service on one of our two touch-screen monitors located at the Plaza. Any US military veteran, from any state, may be honored by having his or her name listed at no charge. A veteran is someone who served in the United States Armed Forces at any time (currently serving, was honorably discharged, deceased, or retired). The veteran does not have to have served in a war, however, proof of honorable service must be provided.

ACCEPTED PROOF OF SERVICE:

Examples: DD214 or Notice of Separation; Discharge Papers; VA Health ID Card; VFW or American Legion Membership Paperwork; Funeral Home Documentation; Newspaper Articles (including picture and service info); Statement of Service for current active members; Copy of Military Orders

*If you have proof that is not on this list, take a picture and submit it. We will reach out using the information provided on the form if we cannot use the documentation provided as proof of service.

We accept all verifiable forms of proof of service. All proof of service submissions are destroyed once the veteran’s name is added to our monitor (1-4 weeks).
